Bon Iver at Gorge Amphitheatre

Bon Iver is an American indie-folk band, and the stage name of singer-songwriter Justin Vernon. Vernon began the project in 2006 as a solo artist, and it has since developed into a group effort. The band's first album, For Emma, Forever Ago (2007), was mostly recorded by Vernon as he convalesced in an isolated Wisconsin cabin after a severe illness, a break up and the dissolution of his previous band, DeYarmond Edison. The album was independently released and a critical success, gaining exposure from several of its singles receiving play in the background of several television shows. Four years later, the band released its follow-up: Bon Iver, Bon Iver. The album won the band two Grammy Awards in 2012 – Best New Artist and Best Alternative Music Album. 22, A Million, the band's most recent album, was released in 2016.
